This week's featured dj is Marie! Listen to her show, Bisexual Underground, on Fridays at 10pm. From: Born in NYC. Raised in Ellicott City, MD. I live in Baltimore, MD now. How long have you been a WBAR DJ?: 3 semesters since spring 2016! What's your show about?: Every Friday, from 10pm to 12am, there'll be a bisexual living underground. You'll get to hear cool music, she'll try and invite people to interview and/or play on air, and she'll talk about anything from bisexuality and Youtube videos to the news and her pet dog. Last semester, this bisexual spoke to another bisexual and discussed what it's like to be LGBTQ+ and religious. This bisexual also had queer poetry corners (Langston Hughes, Edna St. Vincent Millay, etc.) which is pretty schwifty. Expect more this semester. Wubba Lubba Dub Dub. How did I come up with the title: I'm literally the bisexual underground. WBAR is in the basement of the quad. I wanted something that sounded super cool, but was quite literal and simple. Also, it is Rick and Morty themed because I adore the show. Wubba Lubba Dub Dub. DJ SCHWIFTY here. Process for making a playlist: I add music I like into a new playlist each week, and then I organize it before my show. some songs played recently that I love: There's Too Much Love by Belle and Sebastian. Cheap by Le1f. Winterbreak by MUNA. Slide by Calvin Harris. What's Up? by 4 Non Blondes. Favorite WBAR memory?: When I had a whole bunch of friends coming in and out of WBAR to say hi to me during my show. One of them gave me cookies. (I ate them SUPER QUICKLY in studio of course because that is technically AGAINST the RULES but I couldn't refuse them. They were a gift!). Also, those couple of times in my first semester when I received fan mail from an anonymous person.
