The Marshall Green Travel Hour
April 18, 2014, 6:25 p.m.
Our current featured show of the week is The Marshall Green Travel Hour on at 2 am on Saturdays! NJ: Where are y'all from? Henry Green & Max Marshall: Henry is from Cambridge, Massachusetts and Max is from Texas NJ: What is your genre? HG: It started as a rap show, but Max has pulled us more toward country music and we also play R&B. NJ: How did you come up with the title for your show? HG & MM: We were enjoying complementary passionfruit margaritas from our generous sponsors over at the Heights Bar and Grill, when Henry realized that his complementary nachos had transformed into the image of the Virgin Mary. We then immediately decided to call our show the Marshall Green Travel Hour. This semester, we changed the name to The Marshall Green Travel Hour: The Road Goes on Forever as a tribute to Robert Earl Keen’s classic “The Road Goes On Forever and the Party Never Ends”. NJ: What is it like having a co-dj? HG & MM: It’s great for those lonely nights. NJ: Name a track you have played recently that you love: MM: Tanya Tucker- Soul Song (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tM3jzDWNQy4) 1972 track by a 12-year-old country music prodigy from West Texas. So lush. HG: Cody Chesnutt - Boylife In America (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fHs7y44iwVs) I found this song trolling through his album The Headphone Masterpiece album when I had a cold. I liked the title so I checked it out; it has a warmth to it but it’s weird enough to keep you interested. NJ: Who are you most excited for for WBARBQ? HG & MM: It all looks good, but we’re most excited about KA.
